3 Ways to Remineralize Drinking Water (and WHY you should!)
Remineralizing your water is an easy and effective way to support hormones and body functioning daily. It’s one of the easiest ways to improve cellular function, feel more energetic, and absorb nutrients from food.
At a time when most of our produce comes from depleted soil, diets are heavy on gluten and refined foods, and stress and toxin exposures are high, our stores are more likely to need some help.
Minerals do a wide range of things in the body, providing support for:
🌊 Cellular hydration
🦴 Building materials for our bones
💗 Production of enzymes and hormones
💩 Detoxification support
🤯 Function in nerve impulse transmission and muscle contraction (movement!)
⚡ Electrolyte balance
So how do you get minerals?
Food provides us with minerals, which is why it’s so important to eat a diverse range of produce and proteins. Beyond that, I like to give my body a jumpstart each morning by boiling the kettle and putting on a pot of herbal tea. Herbs like Nettle, Oatstraw, Raspberry Leaf, and Alfalfa are a traditional grouping referred to as NORA tea. This blend provides essential minerals in a bioavailable form and increases cellular hydration as you drink.
Herbs aren’t the only way to increase your minerals. What’s my favourite way? SALT! Unrefined, mineral-rich salts such as Redmond Real Salt or Celtic Sea Salt have dozens of naturally occurring essential minerals including calcium, copper, magnesium, potassium, and zinc! The best part? They are so easy to find.
What I use at home:
➡️ Herbal Tea such as this one!
How to Use:
Try adding a few drops of ConcenTrace Drops or a pinch of Real/Celtic Salt to your drinking water.
Herbs can be added to broths and stocks to improve mineral content in meals, or you can drink them as tea (warm or room temp).
Make adrenal cocktails to support your electrolytes and cellular health. A super simple one to try is below!
Lemon Adrenal Cocktail Recipe
1 cup coconut water
1/4 tsp salt
juice from 1/2 a lemon
*top up with water as desired
Drink between lunch and dinner for an afternoon pick-me-up!
Adequate intake of mineral salts is essential for overall health and well-being. They contribute to the proper functioning of virtually every system in the body, from cardiovascular health to immune function. So remember, don’t skip the salt!
